Sleeping Man Arrested For Weed, Open Container: Beachwood Police


BEACHWOOD, OH — Beachwood Police made four arrests for marijuana possession in less than 48 hours. The majority of the weed was found during traffic stops, though one suspect was found asleep in his car at a local gas station.

Marijuana Possession, May 25 — Police cited a man for marijuana possession after stopping his car on Cedar Road on early Friday morning. The man was also cited for a marked lanes violation.

Marijuana Possession, May 25 — Callers reported that a man was asleep in his car at the BP Gas Station on Chagrin Boulevard at about 2:45 a.m. The man had an open container of alcohol and marijuana in his car. He was arrested.

Harassment, May 25 — An employee at a local company reported receiving harassing calls, texts and emails from a former employee.

Marijuana Possession, May 25 — Police cited a driver on Harvard Road for having marijuana.

OVI, May 26 — Police arrested a man for operating a vehicle impaired, marijuana possession, and driving with a suspended license. The man’s car was stopped on Chagrin Boulevard.

Warrant Served, May 26 — Beachwood Police picked up a man from Cleveland Police Jail for an active warrant in Beachwood.

Found Property, May 26 — An Ohio plate was found in the parking lot of Beachwood Place Mall and turned over to mall security.

Shoplifting, May 26 — A man was arrested for stealing $170 of merchandise from Dillard’s on Saturday.

Trespassing, May 26 — Police arrested a man for trespassing at Beachwood Place Mall on Saturday. The man was arrested at about 9 p.m.

Shoplifting, May 27 — A man was arrested for felony theft on Sunday after police found nearly $3,000 of stolen merchandise in his possession. The merchandise was stolen from Saks Fifth Avenue.

License Suspension, May 27 — Beachwood Police stopped a car I-271 for driving with an expired license plate. The driver had a suspended license and a warrant for her arrest. She was taken into custody and her car was towed.
