On an episode of Real Time With Bill Maher last week, Woody Harrelson discussed everything from his upcoming movie LBJ, in which he plays former president Lyndon B. Johnson, to his former weed habit.
The latter of which, incidentally, is what got him through a 2002 dinner party he had been invited to by retired wrestler Jesse Ventura.
The guest of honour? None other than Donald Trump, who had been attempting to convince Ventura to be his running mate in the 2004 election – on the Democratic ballot.
“I went and it was brutal,” Harrelson said. “I never met a more narcissistic man. He talked about himself the whole time. You could see the standard he was going to bear. I had to walk out like halfway through and smoke a joint just to, like, steel myself from the rest of it.”
Harrelson went on to confirm that he gave up smoking marijuana a year and a half ago.
LBJ comes out on Friday. The movie made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
