Two people were arrested and 500 marijuana plants seized after police served a search warrant in a residential neighborhood of Claremont, authorities said Thursday.
Claremont police, with the Azusa Police Department major crimes unit, were investigating a possible cultivation operation in the 1600 block of Clemson Avenue in Claremont when the warrant was served on Wednesday, May 23.
“Along with the live plants, an extensive amount of processed marijuana, cut plants, and cash were located,” a release from Claremont police said. It called the grow operation “active and sophisticated.”
Arrested on suspicion of cultivation of marijuana, possession for sale, and Claremont municipal code violations, were Joseph Cassani, 33, and Ericka Klenk, 25. The release did not state their hometowns, and did not give the exact address of where the warrant was served.
