Pawtucket police seize $100K in marijuana, arrest 3

The Narcotics Unit for the Pawtucket Police was busy last week.

In three separate drug raids, police confiscated more than $100,000 worth of marijuana and arrested three in a crackdown of illegal manufacturing and distribution of narcotics.

Police obtained three search warrants for the raids.

David Ferrante, 37, was arrested for the manufacturing, possession and intent to deliver marijuana for his growing operation that police say yielded 1,500 grams of marijuana. Police approximated the value at $100,000. Investigators say he operated out of a garage on Mineral Spring Avenue.

Jaymion Andrade, 25, was charged for possession and intent to deliver marijuana, and a charge for maintaining a common nuisance. In the search at 14 Heaton St., police said they seized approximately 59 grams of marijuana, various distribution materials and about $2,300 in cash.

Debbie Jones Lapsey, 60, was arrested and charged with possessing and intent to deliver cocaine. Her apartment at 560 Prospect St. was raided after an ongoing investigation into illegal distribution.

She was also charged with maintaining a common nuisance.

Police say the investigation were a result of complaints from neighbors.
