A Blount County man was arrested on Saturday after narcotics officers found several pounds of marijuana, thousands of dollars in cash and a number of firearms at his home in Maryville.
Jesse D. Malone, 23, was arrested after officers from the Fifth Judicial Drug Task Force, which is comprised of members of the Blount County Sheriff’s Office, Alcoa Police Department and Maryville Police Department, executed a search warrant at his home on Wildwood Springs Road on Saturday. Officers found Malone in possession of five pounds of marijuana, which they say was intended for resale, over $14,000 in cash, and an undisclosed number of firearms.
Malone was arrested on charges of possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance for resale in a drug free zone and maintaining a dwelling where controlled substances are used or sold, according to the Blount County Sheriff’s Office. He was released on a total bond of $10,000 and is scheduled to appear in court on November 1.
Charges are pending on another individual, according to BSCO.
