GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – More than 100 pounds of marijuana, as well as two handguns, were seized during a traffic stop last week that led to three arrests, according to a news release from the Greenville Regional Drug Task Force.
Juan Jose Olivas-Hinijos, 45; Ivan Ochoa Lujan, 25; and Alexis Ronquillo-Garcia, 17 all face multiple counts of trafficking and conspiracy to traffic marijuana. The three suspects are from Midland, Texas.
On December 21, the Greenville Police Department’s K-9 Unit pulled over a vehicle near Highway 264 and Old Stantonsburg Road.
The marijuana and handguns were seized during the stop.
Law enforcement said both Olivas-Hinijos and Lujan were armed with handguns at the time of the traffic stop.
All three suspects were booked into the Pitt County Detention Center and given $1 million bonds.
The Greenville Regional Drug Task Force is comprised of law enforcement officers from the Greenville Police Department, Winterville Police Department, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration and East Carolina University Police Department.
