A K-9 uncovered nearly 20 pounds of marijuana this week in Nash County, deputies said.
The Nash County Sheriff’s Office said K-9 Kilo was deployed during a traffic stop at about noon Monday. Kilo indicated drugs in the vehicle, so the Sheirff’s Office’s Highway Interdiction Team got a warrant to search the vehicle. The search turned up 19.3 pounds of marijuana, deputies said.
Andrew Pinto was charged with two counts of trafficking marijuana, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, deputies said. His bond was set at $80,000.
