More than 100 marijuana plants seized in South Texas raid

After receiving an anonymous tip, authorities in Brownsville seized more than 100 marijuana plants inside a home that had a marijuana growing lab. A suspect is now behind bars.

According to a Tuesday release from the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office, police were tipped off to the home and executed a search warrant on Friday afternoon.

Police made contact with Jason Meyn, 37, at the house, according to the release. The District Attorney’s Office reports that marijuana plants, along with drug paraphernalia, were seized, including scales and smoking devices.

Meyn was arrested on charges of criminal conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. At this time, he’s in federal custody awaiting trial.
