FHP: Two arrested on drug-related charges, marijuana found after accident

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – According to Florida Highway Patrol, two people were arrested on drug-related charges when law enforcement found drugs after a single vehicle accident.

Troopers said the incident happened Sunday morning.

They said Marissa Morrison, 22, and Matthew Lagares, 25, were involved in a single vehicle traffic crash on Interstate 10 near mile marker 154 eastbound.

During the course of the crash investigation, officials said evidence and indicators of criminal activity were observed.

A subsequent criminal investigation began, which led to their arrest for possession of marijuana more than 20 grams, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia (six counts).

Troopers said they were booked into the Jackson County Correctional Facility and await first appearance.
