2 arrested in Spanish Fork drug bust

SPANISH FORK — Police arrested two people during a drug bust in Spanish Fork this week, officials said on Wednesday.

Narcotics detectives served a search warrant at a home in Spanish Fork Monday night where they found lamps and other equipment used to grow marijuana, according to a press release from the Utah County Sheriff’s Office.

Police also seized 145 grams of heroin, 165 grams of methamphetamine, 200 grams of marijuana, four live marijuana plants, 21 pills, and a small amount of cocaine from the home. Detectives found seven firearms, more than 20,000 rounds of ammunition, and about $3,500 in cash, the release said.

Police arrested Rolf Pawelek, 28, and Jennifer Coplen, 24, both of Spanish Fork.

Pawelek was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of seven counts of possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, a third degree felony, and several felony charges related to drugs.

He has two prior convictions for drug distribution, according to the sheriff’s office. He is currently being held in lieu of $20,000 cash only bail.

Coplen was booked for investigation of the same matters except for the seven weapons counts. She posted $10,000 bail and was released from jail.
