A group of 15 people are in custody after Border Patrol agents caught them smuggling more than 518 pounds of marijuana into the United States, according to a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol news release.

Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents teamed up with two helicopter crews from Air & Marine Operations to make the arrests. The team followed foot prints in the desert which lead them to find 13 Mexican nationals and 2 Guatemalans, all of whom traveled into the U.S. illegally, according to CBP officials.

The group was carrying 21 bales of marijuana worth nearly $260,000, according to a news release.

The suspects are being processed by immigration officials.
