“Adamas,” meaning “untamable,” “invincible” and “diamond,” is the aptly named new Rolls-Royce collection, consisting of 40 Black Badge Wraiths and 30 Black Badge Dawns. The dark and menacing aesthetic of Adamas is perfectly infused into the intricacies of each luxury vehicle, creating one-of-a-kind and highly-coveted look that we’ve all come to know and expect from Rolls-Royce.
Adamas is a Collection that fuses the extraordinary competence of our Bespoke craftspeople from the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, West Sussex, with the rebellious spirit of Black Badge,” began Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO of Rolls-Royce. “The result is a motor car for those who seek more than the definitive of engineered luxury conveyance. This is a motor car for the risk-taker who is not afraid to embrace a bold and progressive statement of true and modern luxury, in its darkest form.”
The Adamas Wraith and Dawn will certainly be distinguishable from its “normal” counterparts, with a new two-tone exterior finish in red-and-black—called Aphrodite Red over Black—or blue-and-black—called Morpheus Blue over Black.
It takes 68 hours to produce 294 layers of aerospace-grade carbon fiber on each vehicle, with a 25-degree technical weave angle and a dark, vapor-blasted titanium base that reads “BLACK BADGE ADAMAS” with the infinity logo.
The signature Mandarin Orange for Dawn and Cobalto Blue for Wraith interior colors are darkened and extended to the exterior of each vehicle, to create the first two-toned Black Badge cars in what the brand calls Aphrodite Red over Black and Morpheus Blue over Black. Buyers have the choice between the two color ways when purchasing their Adamas.
Black grille vanes are also added to a darkened grille, while the interior clock is encrusted with black diamonds. 88 laboratory-grown diamonds are used to form the Black Badge infinity symbol on the inside, while the clock face touts machined aluminum chaplets and a polished aluminum inner bezel, juxtaposing the white face. Additionally, “1,340 individual fiber optic lights are configured as though forming the molecular structure of carbon as it becomes a diamond, presenting a motif reminiscent of a powerful spine running through the interior cabin,” per the brand. The starlight headliner also uses graded shading, while the pearlescent-effect interior leather is also a first for the brand.
To further emphasize how unique and special the collection is, an illuminated tread plate reads “Black Badge Wraith Adamas — One of Forty” or “Black Badge Dawn Adamas — One of Thirty” as the driver enters and exits the car. How’s that for being detail-oriented?
